Parent Queries

How do I get the new app?​
If you have not used the app before you will need to download it from the app store.

iPhone users | App store > Search > Blossom Parent App > Download > Open.

Android users | Google Play > Search > Blossom Parent App > Download > Open.

How do I update the app?​
Iphone users | App store > click on picture or initials in the right hand corner > Scroll down to Blossom > Update > Once complete go back to the app, click and read the steps > Get started > Type email in & click next > Choose send a magic link or set password > access your email account & follow the steps.

Android users | Google Play > Click the three lines on the left hand side > click apps & games > scroll down to Blossom Parent App > click update for Blossom parent app > open.

I can’t see formative reports, why?
No problem, the nursery will need to share your child’s reports with the parent app.

How do I update the app?

Photo Permissions:

Android users | What option do I select when the following popup appears ‘Allow Blossom to take pictures and record video’?
You will be displayed with Allow, Deny and Deny & don’t ask again.
By selecting Allow initially will allow you to take a photo using your camera on the Blossom Parent app.

My phone will not allow me to upload a photo from my camera roll, how do I change this?
Settings > Apps > Blossom > Permissions > Storage > Change from deny to allow > This will now allow you to select any photos from your camera roll.

iPhone Users | What option do I select when the following popup appears ‘United Would Like to Access the Camera’?
By selecting ‘OK’ initially will allow you to take a photo using your camera on the Blossom parent app.

By selecting ‘OK’ initially will allow you to access and upload a photo from your camera roll.

To change this please follow these steps:

iPhone Users | Settings > Scroll down to Blossom > Photos > Change from Never to Read and Write.

Finance:

How do I download invoices?
Parent world menu > Account > Scroll to invoices > See all > Select the invoice you wish to download > Click the download button in the top right hand corner > The invoice will now download.

I have made a payment but there is still an outstanding balance on my account?
Do not fear, the account balance will not update until the nursery has registered your payments into Blossom.

How do I download receipts?
Parent world menu > Account > Scroll down to payment receipts > See all > Select the receipt you wish to download > Click the download button in the right hand corner > The payment receipt will now download.

How do I share formative reports with parents?
Child > Learning Journey > Formative Reports > Tick the ‘share on parent app’ box > Save.

How do I share receipts with parents?
Finance > + Payment > input all information > tick send receipt > Submit.

How do I share invoices with parents?
To share an invoice onto the parent app you will need to ensure the contact and bank details have the parents details on. If you only send the invoice to one parent the other parent may not be able to view the invoices on their parent app.

Can parents see their balance on the parent app?
Yes, the parent will be able to view their balance on the parent app. However, if a parent has paid the balance will only update the balance once it has been registered by the nursery.

How can I ensure both parents can view the invoice?
Children > Select child > Finance > Click the edit key on Contact and Bank Details > Scroll down to additional recipients > show contacts > Select contact > Save > This invoice can now be viewed by both parents.

How do I share observations with parents?
To share an observation with a parent you will need to click the share on parent app box. This observation will then appear as a golden moment.
Children > Select child > Learning Journey > Observations > Click into observation > Edit > Tick Share on parent app box > Review > Approve observation > This will then be shared to the parent app.
